Why it matters

Supporting long-term need

Emergencies and disasters can strike without warning, leaving families without access to food, clean water, shelter and other basic necessities. The Al-Waris Foundation Emergency & Disaster Relief Fund helps us prepare for and respond to humanitarian emergencies when they occur. By maintaining an ongoing emergency fund, we can act more quickly when urgent assistance is needed rather than waiting for a new fundraising appeal to begin. Depending on the needs of each emergency, funds may be used to provide food, clean water, emergency shelter, hygiene supplies, essential household items and other appropriate humanitarian assistance. When a major emergency occurs, Al-Waris Foundation may also establish a dedicated appeal or individual relief projects so that donors can support a specific response. We are committed to using these funds responsibly and, wherever possible, providing updates and evidence showing how your donations have helped affected communities.
